Let’s End the Permanent War Economy

First and foremost, let’s work to put an end to our permanent war economy, dictated to feeding the insatiable needs of the military industrial complex.  Former President and WWII Allied Commander, Dwight D. Eisenhower had tremendous foresight when he warned of this, decades ago.

After decades of ‘nation building’ and imperialistic aggression, many of our children have literally never know an America at peace.

Many of our dedicated service men and women have been both physically and mentally maimed, for life.  While other have paid the ultimate sacrifice.  We cannot abandon these heroes or their families –  ever.

Ending our dependency on a war based economy also entails retraining our service men and women as well as repurposing portions of the MIC for peaceful industries, such as transportation, renewable energy, water purification, carbon fixation, space exploration and communications, to name a few.

As world renowned psychologist, Abraham Maslow said in 1966, “I suppose it is tempting, if the only tool you have is a hammer, to treat everything as if it were a nail.”
